General Impressions Of 6.2 Liter

I am think of selling my Duramax. Not that I am tired of it but just that I really have no reason to have one. I don't tow anything and they really don't get that great of fuel milage.

A dealer in Calgary here has a couple of 2010 loaded 1500's and I am thinking of going back to gas.

I would like to have anyone's impression of the 6.2.......other that having 403hp would be fun. haha.

I'm extremely pleased with mine  Same mileage as my 6.0 4-speed got but alot more fun to drive.

(13-18mpg)

This should sum it up

No one has ever had a complaint on here of the 6.2L

I have the 6.2L and wouldn't even consider a smaller engine for my future vehicles. Especially coming from a d-max...6.2 would be perfect!

mileage is the biggest complaint...a halfton that gets the mileage of a 2500..but none the less its still sweet

From who? Like Stevens said his gets the same as his old truck with the 6L. My 6.2 gets the same or better than my old 2000 with the 5.3.

Mileage always comes up, but it is a highly subjective measure. EPA numbers clearly put the 5.3 about 2 to 3 mpg hwy above the 6.2, but a heavier foot will erase all of that (maybe plus some). When towing or driving "with the foot in it", or just driving in town, there should little mpg difference between a 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 or 6.2.

at work alot of trucks come and go so i get a little chance to shoot the shit with the owners, thus my statement of the main complaint is mileage...i diden't say it was an 8.1 in disguise or anything, i'd own one because in all honesty i don't give a rats ass about mpg as long as its in the double digits

My last truck was a Cummins equipped 2007 Ram.It never got more than 18mpg and the maintenance costs were VERY epensive.Diesel costs .15 cents more than 91 Octane and the diesel equipped truck took FOREVER to heat up in the winter. My 2010 Silverado with the 6.2L engine consistently gets 17.5 mpg and is a blast to drive. This is the BEST truck I've ever owned so far.I'd be stupid to go back to a diesel after this truck. For the money you can't go wrong with the 6.2.
